Mountain Ranges
In class we have been learning about mountain ranges. Children have used keys/legends in atlases to locate mountain ranges around the world and in the UK. We have also looked at contour lines on OS maps to identify different mountain shapes and how steep they are.
Alternative Tasks:
1. Poster
Make a poster to explain how mountains are formed. Use the DK find out! website to help you.
2. Making a Mountain
Use the link to find out how to make a 3D model mountain.
3. Fact-file
Research a mountain range of your choice and create your own fact file on Word or as a Powerpoint presentation .
Think about the following questions:
- In what country/continent is the mountain range found?
- Do animals live there?
- What is the climate and environment like?
- How tall is it's tallest peak?
- Do people live on or use the mountain?
