Competition Time
The Latin Programme have created a fun, free-to-enter KS2 writing competition. Mr McKeith will have mentioned it to the Key Stage 2 classes and the Programme would love to receive entries from home.
The rules:
Write a piece of prose or a poem of 500 words or fewer, using the Latin phrase “tabula rasa” as a starting point.
The judges:
This year, the winners will be chosen by children’s author Caroline Lawrence (The Roman Mysteries, The Time Travel Diaries) and YA author Alexandra Shepard (Oh My Gods). The winner will receive £100 of book tokens, and an invitation to read their piece at our Latin Programme Gala in June, and two runners-up will be awarded £25 in book tokens.
All the students need to do to enter is fill in the form below with their name, year group, school and their piece and send it to [email protected]. Please send all entries by May 1st (extended deadline).
Here’s a blog post our judge Caroline Lawrence wrote about the competition, including helpful hints and prompts to get our young writers started!
