We have got through our first two weeks of lockdown! Mr Cannon and I have been so impressed with how both the parents and children in our classes have adapted to this humongous change.
I myself have kept myself very busy chasing around my beautiful nephews, Emerson and Elias. Between jumping on the trampoline, playing football in the front yard and being drilled by my brother in CrossFit over Zoom- I am feeling pretty fit! Makes up for all of the M&S speckled eggs I have been consuming. Mr Cannon is in the process of living out his dream of becoming a rock star by learning the guitar. He has assured me that when he opens his School of Rock, you are all invited to attend. He has also been cooking some delicious food and chatting with the local alpaca Alberto on his daily walk. They have become quite chummy in this time of isolation (I think he misses me, pretty cool replacement though). We are both wishing you all a very happy Easter. We hope that you all have time to reflect on all the wonderful things we have to be grateful for during these trying times. We will make sure that the new week of learning is uploaded at the end of the Easter break. Looking forward to hearing from you all soon. With our best wishes, Miss Head and Mr Cannon. Hello again to all of the wonderful parents and carers of Year 4,
Week 1 has been a very odd week for all of us, we have all had to adapt and change our routines and manage our situations accordingly. I hope that we are all settling in to things and we are finding a normality about the situation - I must admit, I am finding some things odd still - I never thought I would be lining up for 45 minutes to buy some cheese. After contacting most parents in Year 4, we are all so happy to hear that children and all of their families are keeping well, keeping safe and doing an absolutely amazing job so far. We appreciate that home learning is not easy, but I have been really proud to hear that some children have been learning a range of skills on top of the learning that is on this website. These include: Touch typing - A skill that we will all need in our modern world. Website design - A range of amazing and creative websites - I am confident that we have the next online tech wizard amongst us. Learning a language - I am even going to attempt a language - please test me when we next see each other. Learning an instrument - An amazing way to fill your time. These are just a few examples that we have heard and we look forward to hearing many more adventures from you all. In terms of work that we are setting, Miss Head and I have updated the Mathletics tasks, and have set a test, set to begin on the 22nd April, with children having a week to do this. We look forward to reading your scores, but obviously, there is absolutely no pressure on these. For those of you that have not yet received a phone call, can you just ensure that the School office have an updated phone number for you, we really want to hear from all of you! Lastly, I want to wish you all, and all of your families, the best of health and we want to reassure you that you are all doing an amazing job, we miss you all and we are here for any of you if you have any questions. Mr Cannon and Miss Head Hi Year 4 parents!
